Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!

Good game last night, but LOOONG! We explored four rooms and it took us 8 hours. I almost died (actually everyone almost died). We killed Luc, it was necessary. He was charmed and most likely working for the enemy. I had a cool vision of Mercurial and I got tasked to “stand as a bastion of the Light”. I love stuff like that. Charlie is so good at incorporating character motivations into the game.

We’re working on the first game for the Pheyrift campagin. We’re calling it “Seeds of Magery”. It’s pretty straightforward. Crops are dying, magic seeds can restore the crops, PC’s get magic seeds from the guardians, original owner of seeds shows up and makes everyone’s life miserable, PC’s kill him. I notice that a lot of gaming ends with people dead. I guess that’s the nature of the activity. I’d like to see more redemption and compromise, but I guess it clutters up your landscape with people you have to keep track of.

In the personal life, all proceeds on a more or less even keel. Tom’s back to work tomorrow. I don’t know how rested he’s going to be. He skipped out on fighter practice anyway for more rest. FP has been moved to Andras’ house due to weather, so he’s not missing a lot of fencing. Brett’s off for anniversary stuff, so who knows what’ll happen.

New picture for the journal. It lives on the Barony of St. Swithin’s Bog website but as it is of me (and is not identified as such) I figure I’m justified in copying it (also, we own the original). That was the Pennsic Tom and I attended while we were still dating. It was an interesting experience. I had fun, but I think if we attend now, we’ll have more to do.

For Real

Ok, this seems to work, so here’s the real first entry.

We’re having an interesting time. We spent last night teaching some of the local yout’s to LARP with foam boffer weapons. Brett and Vlad helped us out (a lot). The kids are for the most part pretty good, although the constant high school drama gets a bit much at times. Roland, the kid in charge, is very organized and creative. I think we’ll be OK with this.

Gaming tonight. We’re searching a pyramid in the Zhadouar holy land with this nutty pyrokineticist named Luc. I think we’re going to have to kill him. We’re looking for a psionic artifact and Luc says he’s not going to rest until he gets it. I just hope he betrays us soon so I’ll be justified in taking him on.

In real life, Tom’s on his long weekend, but I’m at work. I get Monday off (hooray) which will give me time to sleep. These 18 hour days are starting to wear me down.

Work is fine. The boss is back from Nat’l guard duty and things are progressing. Summer Reading Club starts next week. I need to prepare some stuff for the kiddoes to do. I also am on task to learn how to use our computers, finally, so that we can do most of the easy management in house.
