Teenagers

So the local LARP teens came over to my house yesterday for a costume sewing event.

They are so funny. It must be great to have so much @#$##@ free time. They were supposed to arrive at 3:30. So I got home from work, cleaned up the house and was ready for them at 3:30. They called around 4:15 to say they had just gotten up from a nap and that they had to stop and pick someone up and then they would be right over…
Well, after three more phone calls
1. lost on the way to the third person’s house
2. at the store, how much fabric should they buy
3. lost on MY STREET

they finally arrive around 6:30. We start talking about sewing and I get a call from my dad. So, while I’m talking to him (for about 30 minutes) they are sitting around looking at patterns. I get back in and we decide to make T-tunics (no pattern required). I cut out the first batch of fabric and we’re ready to sew. But no one knows how to use the single sewing machine they have brought. So…I sew on my machine (thank goodness we were at my house) and they do all the pinning.

They left around 11:00 with one tunic (out of over 30 yards of fabric they had brought) and hopefully enough know how to cut out and sew the rest.

I hope they had fun. I felt bad because we didn’t have enough for them to do. We’ll be playing on Thursday, so we’ll see how much they get done.
