Not re-inventing the wheel

Sometimes someone else says it best:

“The world is too much with us; late and soon,
Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers:
Little we see in Nature that is ours;
We have given our hearts away, a sordid boon!”

William Wordsworth, The World is Too Much With Us
English poet (1770 – 1850)

A sad day.

My favorite childhood vacation place was in the news today. And it was not good news, it was VERY bad news.

20 or 21 people died. It’s so hard to put that idea together with my memories of the place. I can imagine all of the boats on the lake, though. It gets so busy on the weekend. The Ethan Allen is a big, relatively flat bottomed boat. I’d bet it is very top heavy.

I feel terrible for all of those people. I only have good memories of Lake George and I’m sorry that a lot of people will now associate it only with tragedy.
