Things to do

I kind of had a panic attack and lost a good two hours of sleep last night (and this was even when I went to bed slightly early).  I kept thinking about all the looming stuff I have to do and keep putting off, so I’m going to start by making a list here so I know what I have to do.

1.  Laundry
2.  Clean up bedroom/den
3.  Clean up spare/child’s bedroom
3 1/2.  Carpet tiles and baseboard for this room
4.  Make appointment with Social Services
5.  New locks
6.  Fire extinguisher
7.  Check fire alarms
8.  Clean up craft room
9.   LARP costumes and masks
10. LARP pouches and sword frogs
11.  Costuming for Woobs
12.  Costuming for Jester
13.  Work clothes resizing
14.  Cat box hidey-hole
15.  Clean guest bathroom
16.  Organize sheds
17.  Prepare garden
18.  Deck furniture
19.  Pergola or awning for deck
20.  Fence for yard

That’s enough for now.  Looks like it’s going to be a busy year.  Now if I can only get enough sleep.

Back in the general direction of the saddle

So…the Dr. says my blood O2 is good and she cleared me to go back to work.  This is good as I have been very much a couch slug for the past five days.  I celebrated by getting groceries and tidying up the garden.  Next project is to organize the 2009 bills and tax stuff.

Lovely day.   We got buckets of rain last night and the lake is VERY full.  But  it’s warm-ish and sunny so the cats and I are enjoying an afternoon of open windows.

Reason 3,565 I love the Woobs

This is a little hard story to read.  It was certainly hard to live, so I’m going to put it behind a cut.  It’s a story of my very kind Wooby and an injured animal.  If you want to read more, go ahead and click.

So we wound up taking two separate cars to gaming last night.  And as we were driving home, we got about five miles from the house (still on the highway) and I noticed a dog struggling away from the traffic onto the side of the road.  Obviously some car in front of us had hit it, but they hadn’t stopped.  I hate to see an animal like that, so I flashed my lights and the Woobs (who was in the truck in front of me) pulled over at the shopping center.  I told him about the dog (I was pretty soggy at this point) and he had me jump in the truck and we went back to look.

Story here:

Things that are awesome: Super Hero Squad Show

You can blame the Woobs for this one.  He finally got me to watch last year’s Wolverine movie over the weekend and this triggered my interest in the upcoming Deadpool movie, so while I was Googling about Wade, I somehow got on to Squirrel Girl and this led me to…The Super Hero Squad Show (no she’s not in it, but she gets a name drop at one point and well, y’know…internet stuff)

Totally awesome, although somewhat lacking in Deadpoolness.  He’s a little intense for the setting.  It’s definitely a kids show, but it reaches deep into the Marvel mythos so true believers’ll be happy too.

So the premise is that Iron Man and Dr. Doom were fighting over this thing called the Infinity Sword.  It broke.  Shards (called [irritatingly] “Fractals” here) get scattered everywhere and the two teams race to collect and reassemble them.  Tony’s team consists of Wolverine, Hulk, Thor, Silver Surfer and Falcon.  Doom’s got MODOK and Abomination.  Everyone’s super-deformed and adorable, based on the adorable SD Marvel/Hasbro toyline which I totally should have been collecting.  The voice cast is top notch and includes two of our most recent Starscreams (Charles Adler and Tom Kenny [Charles Adler’s Doom is HYSTERICAL]) and the guest stars are abundant.  So far we’ve had Cap’t America (who is OLD, although he doesn’t look or act like it), Storm, Ms Marvel, Thing and Fin Fang Foom and I’m only on the 4th episode.

It reminds me of TF:Animated in both the humor and the inclusion of the franchise’s most beloved characters.  I’m really enjoying it and so I thought I’d share it with y’all.  I hope the new Hasbro/Discovery channel will do something half this creative and fun with TF’s in their new lineup, that is if they don’t continue TF:A, which I personally would prefer.

Now to see if I can pick up some of those adorable toys.

Sir Apnea

So, the sleep test went about how I expected it to.  I was uncomfortable, kept waking up and woke in the morning all groggy and with a sore throat.  Apparently Sir Apnea is still hanging around.  Now I have a week to wait for the neurologist to read the test, then another visit to the clinic where they’ll put me on the machine and futz with the pressure to see what’s the most comfortable.  I’m hoping to score a new machine out of this as mine is almost 10 years old at this point.  I’ve got my fingers crossed for variable pressure and a heated humidifier!

Blogging from the hotel…er hospital (not mine)

Dude!  This hospital is awesome!  They have WiFi and they gave me diet ginger ale.

I’m here for a sleep test, no worries.  Just a check-up to see if I need to have my equipment adjusted due to weight loss.  The nurse is very nice and promised to take a picture of me with all my wires on so y’all can see me.

Anyway, it’s like a nice, very expensive motel, down to the “Sanitized for Your Protection” band on the toilet bowl.  Sweet.

Gotta get going so she can strap me in.  TTFN.
