- 14:17 I’m trying to think of something clever to say, but nothing presents, so BLEAH! #

Vicitm tracks muggers with stolen IPhone
The only thing better would have been if the phone had turned into a tiny crazed robot and machine gunned their knees, but Nokia doesn’t make the IPhone.

Made by my new friend Wildrider over at CiD! Who knew dangerously destructive Decepticons could be so sweet?
Anyways, although I am not generally a ranter, since I now have a rant icon, I should probably test it out.
I have been trying very hard to stay away from this whole health care thing. I work for a socialist healthcare system (no, really) and it doesn’t seem to be any better or worse than any other. But I feel like I’m one of the last people who should be offering up an opinion as my experience has been influenced by working for “the Man”. Let people who have a financial stake in the issue have the floor.
The thing that is really starting to bother me about the debate is people’s insistence on whackaloon behavior in response to being given an open forum. Debate (even spirited debate) is healthy, and the current administration is trying to allow for as much transparency and public input as possible. So why then, must people go out in public to act like reactionary, hidebound crazy ignoramii? If you have a serious concern about health care, say it! But don’t go to the meeting and wave your guns and accuse the President of being a socialist. It’s not constructive and it makes you, and America, look like a bunch of morons. I’m sorry that people are feeling disenfranchised and overwhelmed by the pace of change. I just wish they’d take the time to come up with a beef that has more to do with the actual proposed changes than their deep disgruntlement. Have some class, people.
There!
Yes, it’s fanfiction, Transformers fanfiction, even, so you can skip it if you’re not interested. The story was inspired by this picture: http://masterofall.deviantart.com/art/Something-of-an-implication-132762947 and my friend Ha-Hee Prime. I promise there is no squicky awfulness (the people who know, know what I mean by this, and if you don’t you’re better off, trust me), but there is a little bit of emotional wallowing.

Otherwise, work continues. I’m making fairy wings this week for a summer ball at a fantasy LARP. I’ve officially lost 50 pounds since Feb and I’m considering going back on the strict phase of the diet for a few weeks to kick my metabolism up again. My fungus is mostly gone, as is my sunburn. The beastly heat seems to be over for a while, so all in all, life is pretty good.
Oh, and nostalgia fix of the week, The State on DVD. I forgot how cute Ken Marino was.
So apparently the server that was forwarding my Tweets crashed. However, I am still alive. Still working. Been on a crafting jag lately, trying to reduce volume in the sewing room and reclaim some clothing that was semi-reitired for minor mending issues.
I’ll have to remember to link up some pictures here so you can see us in our canoeing glory from last weekend! Only two dumps and it was a hot day/low river. I did keep losing my shoes (flip flops), though. I have to work over my official river shoes so I can wear them again. They’re a pair of honorably retired Chuck Taylors, but the torn up insoles were hurting my feet when I walked on them. So, I think I’ll be tearing the insoles out and epoxying in a pair or Dr. Scholls or something. I love experiments.
As promised, peecthures!
